The increase in social policies, together with the consolidation of democracy, the increasingly multi-ethnic and broad-based societies that we live in, as well as a heightened sensitivity to human rights, confronts both professionals and users of social, health and education services with ethical issues to which they cannot always provide carefully-considered and consensual responses. Therefore, there is an urgent need to detect and address these issues and to find solutions that promote and foster human rights.
